COLLECT MID OCTOBER ONWARDS UNTIL DORMANT.(Giant Lily). To 4 metres. Large bulbs 5/6 yrs. One of the most spectacular plants for a woodland type garden. Very large, nodding, lily like trumpet shaped flowers in summer.  Flowers are strongly scented, white with maroon stripes inside.  Attractive large leaves. Decorative seedheads.  Moist but well-drained soil. Cool, partly shaded and sheltered site. Bulbs die immediately after flowering but numerous offsets are produced which can be removed after flowering. Offsets take 5 years to flower. A winter mulch is beneficial to protect new growth from frosts in early spring. Autmn to mid Winter dormant.
