To 30 cms. Low growing, mat-forming with cushions of slightly fragrant foliage. Pale pink flowers with contrasting deep pink stamens in summer. Foliage has shades of orange and red in autumn. Sun or shade. Attracts bees. Semi-dormant in winter.
(Snowdrops). 3 large (flowering size) bulbs-potted. Supposed to be the easiest and one of the nicest to grow with very large flower. Delightful in july/august for the first of the spring bulbs. Very good drainage, sun to part shade. Summer/autumn dormant.
To 80 cms. Long arching stems of slender bottlebrush like flowers in summer, that are a lovely rosy red colour. Sun. Clump forming habit. Winter dormant.
(Japanese Primrose) - To 60 cms. Rosettes of crinkly light green leaves and candelabra whorls of flowers on tall, erect stems from late spring to early summer. Beautiful crimson red flowers. Lovely for woodland garden, bog garden, moist borders and the edge of streams. Sun or part shade. Moist soil. Winter dormant.
(Giant Cowslip). To 60 cms. Beautiful apricot/cream colour. Fragrant scented flowers summer/autumn. Light shade and moist soil. Winter dormant.
