There are about 150 different types of perennials and bulbs in the nursery including:

  • Potted bulbs


There are a few seed varieties and plastic labels available for sale. Visitors can obtain a printed catalogue and are welcome to wander around and enjoy looking at the variety of lines on offer. Some photos are on display or online.

Geum Rivale 'Alba'

A lovely wee Geum that is dwarf in nature with small white hooded flowers. Very cute! Sun or part shade and well drained soil. Suits a rockery type situation. Flowers in spring and again spasmodically summer to late autumn. Semi dormant in winter.

Geum rivale 'Roseum'

To 20 cms. Cute wee geum that is dwarf in nature with small deep pink flowers from spring. Sun is best, suits rockery or edge of border. Semi dormant in winter.

Hosta fortunei 'Gold Standard'

(Plantain Lily). Height to 55 cms. Light green leaves turning gold in summer with dark green edging. Lavender flowers. Partial to full shade. 1.5 to 2 litre pots. Winter dormant.

Hosta 'Kiwiskyscraper'

Collect from November. To 1 metre. Outstanding variety with rich blue-green, thick foliage in a distinctly upright large mound. Lavender flowers in mid-summer. Great as a background or specimen plant for part/full shade, moist rich soil. 1 to 2 litre pots. Winter dormant.

Iris Higo 'Sea Fury'

Needs collected or trimmed from November for courier purposes. (Japanese Iris). Stunning variety with pale blue flowers with fine white edging. Sun, average to moist soil. 80 to 90 cms in height. Winter dormant.

Lathrys latifolius "White Pearl"

Sun or partial shade. To one metre +. Fertile humus rich, well drained soil. Smothered in showy clusters of pure white, sweet pea-like flowers among grey-green leaves. A vigorous climber, it looks lovely scrambling over a sunny wall or through a hedge or evergreen shrub, although initially it needs to be tied into supports. No fragrance. Cut back the plant to ground level in early spring. 30 seeds. 2023.
