Rodgersia aesculifolia
To 1 metre. Architectural plant.  Huge, impressive, palmate, wrinkled leaves. The veins and leaf stalks are reddish-brown and densely woolly. In midsummer, the upright flower spikes are made up of white or pink florets. Rodgersias adds drama and definition to gardens in full sun and partial shade. Suits by water, woodland, or in other moist garden sites. Humous rich soil, partial shade to full sun. 1 litre pots - winter dormant.

Rodgersia pinnata 'superba'
To 1 metre. Rare specimen plant. The bold, divided leaves often take on a bronze caste when they first emerge in spring. Large airy plumes of creamy to deep-pink flowers appear in early to mid-summer, and these are useful for cutting or even drying. With its bold, divided leaves this forms an exotic-looking clump that ads a unique foliage accent to amy moist border. Plants prefer a moist, dappled shade setting, but will grow in full sun at the waterside. Useful as a bold, architectural specimen plant. Water during dry weather. 1 litre pots - winter dorrmant.

Rodgersia podophylla
60cms tall. Great architectural plant for moist, humus rich soil and some shade. Striking bronze coloured leaves in spring, going dark green through summer, then turning red in autumn. Masses of tiny creamy white flowers, sometimes flushed pink or red. 1 litre.

Alpine. To 20 cms. In spring, bears nodding, funnel shaped deep purply pink flowers with fringed petals. Some midday shade is best or partial shade in warmer areas. Sharply drained soil.

Thalictrum delavayi 'Hewitts Double'
1 – 2 metres. One of the showiest of the meadow rues. From mid-summer to autumn, tight pompom-like clusters of lilac-mauve sepals on purple tinted stems and delicately textured foliage. Back of border plant – best staked. Suits near streams, borders, wild/woodland gardens. Part shade, moist soil. Winter dormant.
